Specialties: Nick Jerussi, a 2007 graduate of Lakeland High School and is in his 8th season coming back to coach at his alma mater.  Nick played 2 seasons under Coach Hourahan in 2005 and 2006, where those teams had a combined record of 34-7-1- a trip to the sectional championship match and a Conference II League Championship.  In 2004, Jerussi was also a starting forward on a team that won a Sectional Championship here at Lakeland HS.

As a coach in 2011 here at Lakeland, Nick Jerussi was Very instrumental in recapturing the sectional championship plaque that the program has been chasing since 2005!! Not only was he on the road and responsible for scouting future opponents, he was the one who came up with the game plan that we used in upsetting 19-0 and #1 in NYS Portchester in the Championship game!!

In Nick’s 4-year high school playing career, he scored a total of 76 goals – which still stands as the Lakeland HS school record.  Jerussi was named an All League soccer player 3 times and was All- Section for 3 consecutive years.  On top of that, in 2005 Nick Jerussi was named League MVP and was nominated to the All New York State Team.

After Lakeland HS, Jerussi went and played 2 years of College Soccer at DCC, where in his sophomore year he led his team in goals scored and was named to the 1st team All Region Team in XV by the NJCAA.

For the fall of 2016, Nicks responsibilities within the team, continue to grow. Not only will he be working with a very talented group of midfielders and forwards on scoring, he will work daily to the side with our Goal keepers!
